Rising Green Youth Hub
A new youth hub in Wood Green
We are creating a new youth hub in Wood Green for young people aged 11-19 or 11-25 for young people with special education needs.
The new hub will be in the former Brighthouse store, 2B Lymington Avenue, N22 6JA. The building is currently being refurbished and the youth hub will be opening in summer 2022.
This project is part-funded by the Mayor of London’s Good Growth Fund (external link).
Please keep checking back here for project updates.
Rising Green - a new name for the hub
For several weeks we have been working with a group of local young people called the Wood Green Young Voices - listening to their stories, asking them how they see Wood Green and how a new youth hub in the area would look and feel for them.
Through a series of design workshops, the Young Voices shared their thoughts and creativity to produce 5 brilliant options for the name of the new youth hub. After a perioud of consultation, the name chosen was 'Rising Green'.
What does the name for the Youth Hub mean?
The name ‘Rising Green’ is inspired by the idea of growing up and being raised in Wood Green – ‘Made in Wood Green’.
