V Award

  • Are you between 16-19 years old?
  • Do you live in Haringey?
  • Would you like to do some voluntary work?

Some young people think that people who do voluntary work are silly as they don't get paid. It is true that you don't get paid but what you do get is:

  • an opportunity to get experience working in something you enjoy,
  • your chance to prove you are reliable, can work as part of a team and you have skills,
  • a reference to future employers to prove that you can do a job, and
  • national accreditation recognised by employers, schools, colleges and Universities across the country.

So whether you want:

  • retail experience
  • to coach basketball or football
  • a chance to teach other young people to rap
  • experience of working in an office environment, or
  • to just try something new

the Millennium Volunteers Project is for you.

You can work as many hours as you like in any Youth Centre or Project in the borough.

Think you can still get a good job without experience?

Who's being silly now?
