Disabled Students’ Allowances
We can award disabled students’ allowances (DSA) to part-time and full-time undergraduate students and certain postgraduate students who can show that they have a:
- disability
- medical condition
- or specific learning difficulty which affects their ability to study.
We have a responsibility for assessing whether you are eligible for disabled students’ allowances and how much you will receive. The Student Loans Company will then pay for DSAs on their behalf.
The Open University (OU) will continue to assess applications for disabled students’ allowances from their students, although we expect that the Students Loans Company will also pay DSAs on the Open University’s behalf.
