Youth Council Members
Executive Leadership
On Wednesday 23 January 2008, a full meeting of Haringey Youth Council (HYC) attended by young people, elected six members to an executive leadership.
The posts and job descriptions were worked out by young people on the governance action group. They agreed:
- two co-leaders/chairs (a male and a female)
- secretary
- treasurer
- junior champion (11-14 years)
- and senior champion (15-19 years).
Every young person attending the January 2008 meeting was given the chance to stand, write and make a short statement. Each post was hotly contested. Find out more about Executive Leadership Roles.

|back to topEach one of us represents the young people of Haringey and we have a lot of work to do if we want to be as successful as last year’s Executive. Hopefully we can change the way young people are talked about in the press, and show that young people do care about the community and want to make a difference to the lives of others.
