How can I become a member?
Schools, colleges, youth groups and other youth settings can send two representatives and two substitutes to meetings and activities.
Most members have come through their school or youth group. So make contact and check whether you are represented. If not, put yourself forward.
What does it involve?
There are six full meetings of HYC, usually once every half term.
Meetings are at the Council Civic Centre between 5.00 - 7.00pm.
There are also four action groups:
- youth funds panel
- Haringey Investigation Team (HIT)
- cultural conflict and cohesion
- media and marketing
There is also an Executive Leadership Team which meets monthly. You would be a rep for up to two years. So there’s lots to do.
Check out our event calendar to see what's going on.
What’s in it for me?
- being a voice of Haringey young people
- representing your school/youth group/college
- gaining accreditation
- training
- meeting other young people
- going on trips and events
- gaining new skills, knowledge and experiences
